Charles Cleveland Allen, 74 of Veedersburg Rt 1, a farmer and life resident of Fountain County died at 11:35 a.m. Friday June 12, 1959 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, where he had been a patient one day. Born Dec 10, 1894, near Wallace, he was a son of Thomas and Elvira Riley Allen. He was married Oct 29, 1914 to Myrtle Grimes who survies. Also surviving are 5 children: Mrs. Vernon Bales of Veedersburg; Donald of Corsicana, Tx; Dale of Covington; Mrs. Vernon Rogers of Veedersburg and Mrs. Mont Boatman Jr. of Danville, Ill and 14 grandchildren. Also four brothers; Guy and Jesse of Wallace; Ralph of Williamsport and Morris of Herrick, Ill and a sister, Mrs. Theodore Wright of Glenwood, Indiana. He was a member of the Veedersburg Church of God. The body is at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington where friends may call after noon Sat and after 3 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Wolfe Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Noah Beetle and Rev. Jack Miller officiating. Burial in Wolfe Creek Cemetery.
